John Talabot: 'Destiny' (feat. Pional)

This is a must listen from Barcelona's diverse house-ish inspired John Talbot. 'Destiny' is the second track on his soon to be released debut, Fin, due Feb 6th on Permanent Vacation. Expect this to be one of the year's best dance records.

Video: Zebra Katz - 'Ima Read'

Check out this sweet video from Zebra Katz for his new song 'Ima Read.' It's one of those you'd have to just watch to understand. The song is dark, infectious and awesome. Just remember, "proofread that bitch."

Roman Ruins: Mighty Love

Here is a cool video shot by Tyler Coray for Roman Ruins' new single, Mighty Love. Roman Ruins is Graham Hill from Oakland, CA. Look for his Homebuilding LP, an album about "the process of growing a home," on February 28th. Great song.

Turning weather into music

Do you ever think about hearing the wind in another form besides the howl and whistle outside your window on a rainy night? Or how about the strike of lightning as sound other than thunder? Quintron, New Orleans musician and inventor has devised the "Singing House," which is essentially an analog drone synth comprised  of different receptors to translate weather into sound. Kind of amazing stuff. Watch the short demo video below.

Rosemary: "A Persian Tale"

So anyone who reads this blog knows that I have a soft spot for anything with an undercurrent of pulsating disco. This came through this morning in my e-mail. Rosemary, a Danish/Iranian duo have A Persian Tale EP available for free download via Perfectly Isolated, The Golden Filter's label. You should probably check it out. I particularly like "Sleep Alone" and "Everything."

Download the EP.

Watch the short film for the title track "A Persian Tale."

Azealia Banks - NEEDSUMLUV

I've got my money on Azealia Banks this year. She gave us the outstanding bumper, '212,' in 2011 and I feel her break through period is rapidly approaching.  Hear her spit some love over the Machinedrum produced track, 'SXLND' which can be found on his new SXLND EP.

Nicholas Jaar: With Just One Glance

Album of the year wonderkid Nicholas Jaar pulled a slight of hand a couple weeks ago and dropped this new track featuring vocals from Bruce and Demi's child Scout LaRue. Sexy swagger!

Jacques Green: 'Flatline' & 'Clark'

The producer from Montreal is prepping for the release of his Concealer EP due at the end of the month. He's always been one for soft spots of r&b (Another girl, Motivation remix) but this time he's made his own track from scratch featuring vocals from Ango. It's a bit of  a gut wrencher. In addition to streaming the BBC radio rip of 'Flatline' below you can preview the EP via the Soundcloud widget.

Bwana - It Ain't Done Til It's Over

I found this tune spreading like mad over Tumblr today. It's big and hopefully a good sign of things to come for bass music in 2012. Bwana's 'Over and Done EP' is due Jan 21st on Infinite Machine.

Listen to this now: Molly Nilsson

So,  apparently I've slept on this chick for a while. Not literally, but you know the figurative, "Shit I'm late to this party" sort of deal.  Miss Nilsson has just released her second record History and it's rather impressive. Very catchy, Swedish avant-popage. Stream the first track from the album below. I also recommend visiting her own record label's website and buy History.
