John Talabot: 'Destiny' (feat. Pional)

This is a must listen from Barcelona's diverse house-ish inspired John Talbot. 'Destiny' is the second track on his soon to be released debut, Fin, due Feb 6th on Permanent Vacation. Expect this to be one of the year's best dance records.

Turning weather into music

Do you ever think about hearing the wind in another form besides the howl and whistle outside your window on a rainy night? Or how about the strike of lightning as sound other than thunder? Quintron, New Orleans musician and inventor has devised the "Singing House," which is essentially an analog drone synth comprised  of different receptors to translate weather into sound. Kind of amazing stuff. Watch the short demo video below.

So anyone who reads this blog knows that I have a soft spot for anything with an undercurrent of pulsating disco. This came through this morning in my e-mail. Rosemary, a Danish/Iranian duo have A Persian Tale EP available for free download via Perfectly Isolated, The Golden Filter's label. You should probably check it out. I particularly like "Sleep Alone" and "Everything."

The producer from Montreal is prepping for the release of his Concealer EP due at the end of the month. He's always been one for soft spots of r&b (Another girl, Motivation remix) but this time he's made his own track from scratch featuring vocals from Ango. It's a bit of  a gut wrencher. Not literally, but you know the figurative, "Shit I'm late to this party" sort of deal.  Miss Nilsson has just released her second record History and it's rather impressive.
