Nicolas Jaar remixes Cat Power's 'Cherokee'

Another cut from Mr. Jaar... This time a remix of the first track off Cat Power's new album 'Sun.' It's a mellow and airy one, never quite striking the groove that one might expect from a Nicolas Jaar remix. However, he certainly adds some atmosphere to an otherwise seemingly overproduced Chan Marshall joint. Stream below:

Miss Chan Marshall is back at it. An early Christmas present arrived on her website this morning in the form of a cover of her own song (King Rides By). I guess it's a rework but I can't help but call it a cover considering her more recent stints busting out covers left and right.  Apparently the song will appear on her new album due out in 2012.  Of course it's a beauty.
